We're conducting a search. Will you assist us?

Ruth Harbor will soon celebrate its 3rd anniversary of helping young women who are alone and facing an unplanned pregnancy. Many young women can already point back to Ruth Harbor and identify it as a turning point in their lives; for themselves and their baby.

A key staff role in showing grace and love to these girls is our house parents. After serving faithfully from our humble beginnings as Ruth Harbor's house parents, Tom and Collette Beytien have taken up a new ministry as missionaries in Mexico. We are now seeking God's choice for their replacement to be the "stand-in parents" that many of our residents have never had.

Would you help us identify couples that might consider this position at Ruth Harbor? Your suggestion or recommendation is key to beginning conversations with qualified candidates. Some couples that you know, maybe in your church, should consider this employment and ministry opportunity. The rewards are truly eternal!

While taking advantage of technology by posting our need on the Internet, positions like this are often filled through purposeful, thoughtful "word of mouth" among those in our area who really care about serving God, our community, and these young women.

See Printable Flyer . A more specific job description is available from our office by email, fax, mail, or at our web site. Would you consider:

  • Putting an announcement in your bulletin (use text from the enclosed flyer);
  • Mentioning the employment/ministry opportunity in your announcements;
  • Posting the enclosed flyer and additional copies where appropriate; and
  • Praying and ask others to pray regarding this need.

While full-time house parents are our primary need, we also have one relief house parent position available. It is basically the same job description, but the relief role is just a few days a month.

Cordially in Christ,

Mark McDougal,
Executive Director

PS: If you have decided to honor mothers and help Ruth Harbor this year by providing Mother's Day corsages, thanks so much! If not, there is still time to become involved. Contact me at the office or Christie Spera directly at 515-274-9914.
