Announcing our 2025 Vision Dinner Theme: Anchored

Save the Date — 2025 Vision Dinner, November 4, 2025

We’re excited to announce the theme for this year’s Vision Dinner: Anchored — a celebration of the unshakable hope we have in Christ and the steady faithfulness that carries Ruth Harbor’s moms, children, and staff through every season.

Why Anchored?

Over the past year, Ruth Harbor has navigated significant change—from new leadership in our homes to the full launch of the Ruth Harbor Pathway. Through it all, God has been our anchor, holding us firm in His promises. For the women we serve, this anchor is more than a metaphor, it is the difference between drifting in uncertainty and standing on solid ground.

This theme points us back to what matters most:

  • Anchored to healing for past hurt and trauma.

  • Anchored to hope for a future transformed by God’s grace.

  • Anchored to Christ, our model for redemptive relationships and grace-filled living.

What’s Ahead

On Tuesday, November 4, 6:30 PM at the Airport Holiday Inn, we’ll gather to:

  • Hear powerful stories from current residents and alumnae.

  • Be inspired by keynote speaker Pastor Brian Brown of Hope+Elim.

  • Catch a vision for what’s next at Ruth Harbor.

Registration opens in September. Watch your email and social media for details—including a sneak peek at special video stories and ways you can invite friends to experience an unforgettable evening.

Mark your calendar now. Let’s come together to celebrate God’s faithfulness and anchor ourselves in the hope that changes everything.

Standing in the Gap: Join Ruth Harbor’s
Prayer Team

At Ruth Harbor, we believe prayer is not just a part of our ministry, it’s the foundation. Every breakthrough, every changed life, every moment of hope is rooted in the unseen work of God’s Spirit. And that work is fueled by the prayers of His people.

What Does It Mean to Be an Intercessor?

An intercessor is someone who “stands in the gap” before God on behalf of others (Ezekiel 22:30). It means carrying someone else’s needs to the Lord as if they were your own, believing that He will act in His perfect wisdom and love. Intercession is more than a quick mention — it’s intentional, persistent, and rooted in compassion.

In Rees Howells: Intercessor, Howells describes a time when God called him to pray for a missionary in Africa facing impossible circumstances. Though thousands of miles away, he committed himself so fully to the prayer burden that he adjusted his own daily life until the answer came. That depth of identification—praying as though you were in the situation yourself—is the kind of prayer that changes lives.

When you join the Ruth Harbor Prayer Team, you commit to lifting up our moms, children, staff, and ministry partners in this same spirit. You become part of the unseen, yet essential, frontline of our mission.

Praises from August’s Prayer Letter

  • A former resident and her husband publicly declared their faith through baptism.

  • Another alumna has reconnected with her faith and is turning back to God.

  • A current resident has found daycare and accepted a job.

  • We’ve received new referrals through partnerships with Love INC and findhelp.org.

Prayer Requests from August’s Prayer Letter

  • For residents to love Jesus deeply and remain focused on their program goals.

  • For alumnae facing health issues, financial hardship, and the need for supportive community.

  • For L- who has a cyst impinging on some nerves; that her pain management specialist would be able to give her good guidance.

  • For the seeds of the gospel to take root and bring new life in Christ among residents and alumnae.

Will You Stand in the Gap?

Joining the Prayer Team is simple: you will receive our monthly Prayer Letter by email or mail, along with specific praises and requests. Your commitment to pray, whether daily, weekly, or as often as the Lord brings Ruth Harbor to mind, will help shape eternal outcomes.

Visit www.RuthHarbor.org/pray to sign up and become a part of the story God is writing in the lives of women and children.

A Life That Changed the World Through Prayer

If you want to be inspired and challenged in your personal prayer life, we encourage you to read Rees Howells: Intercessor by Norman Grubb. This powerful biography tells the story of a man who took God at His word and devoted his life to standing in the gap for others through prayer. From praying for missionaries across the globe to interceding during critical moments in history, Howells’ life demonstrates the depth, persistence, and faith that true intercession requires. His story will stir your heart to believe God for the impossible and to see prayer as the mighty work it truly is.

We are currently looking for a Resident Assistant for 12-15 hours a week (4-5 hours Tues.-Thurs.) to help with various needs with new moms and for our direct care team. Check out our website at ruthharbor.org/team-employment for more information!

We are in the beginning stages of seeking out what it would look like for our current residents and alumna to assist in making products to sell in order to help their budgets with the rising costs of living and caring for children. We appreciate your prayers as we take this step of faith!
